About Biju Patnaik International Airport
Biju Patnaik International Airport is the only international airport in Odisha and the main air gateway to Bhubaneswar, the state capital. It is named after Biju Patnaik, a former chief minister of Odisha, and is operated by the Airports Authority of India.
Located about 3 km from the centre of Bhubaneswar, the airport connects the city with domestic destinations across India and a growing number of international routes. The current domestic terminal was inaugurated in March 2013, while the older terminal building was converted for international operations.
The airport has two passenger terminals: Terminal 1 for domestic flights and Terminal 2 for international flights with customs and immigration facilities. Public city buses, prepaid taxis, app-based cabs and car rental services link the airport with Bhubaneswar and nearby destinations such as Puri, Konark and Cuttack.
