Belagavi Airport is the main domestic airport serving Belagavi city and the surrounding parts of northern Karnataka. The airfield was established in 1942 as a Royal Air Force base, and its modern passenger terminal was inaugurated in 2017. It remains a civilian airport that shares the site with an Indian Air Force station.
The airport connects the region with major Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad and other destinations, and serves business travellers, tourists and local residents. Its single terminal building is spread over about 3,600 square metres and includes six check-in counters, two baggage conveyor belts and an apron capable of parking Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft.
Located in Sambra, the airport lies roughly 10 km east of the Belagavi city centre along the Bagalkote–Belagavi Road and State Highway 20. Taxis, auto-rickshaws, ride-hailing services and pre-booked transfers provide onward connections to the city and surrounding areas.
