About Beauregard Regional Airport

Beauregard Regional Airport is a public-use general aviation airport serving DeRidder and western Louisiana. The site began as a Works Progress Administration airfield project in the 1930s and was developed as DeRidder Army Air Base from July 1941, serving as a World War II training base before being declared surplus in 1946 and transferred to Beauregard Parish in 1947.

The airport occupies more than 4,000 acres and is among the largest airports in Louisiana by land area. A preserved World War II hangar remains in use as the main hangar and terminal, supporting private, corporate, agricultural and military aviation rather than scheduled commercial passenger service.

Located about three miles southwest of central DeRidder, the airport is close to Fort Johnson, home of the Joint Readiness Training Center, roughly 15 miles to the north. Road access is available via US Highway 190, with Interstate 10 about 46 miles south through US Highway 171.

The airport offers aviation fuel, aircraft parking and hangars, a pilot lounge with Wi-Fi and flight planning facilities, and ground transportation support. Its location and general aviation services make it a practical entry point for business, military and private travel in west-central Louisiana.
