About Battle Mountain Airport

Battle Mountain Airport is a public-use general aviation airport located about 3 miles (5 km) southeast of the central business district of Battle Mountain, Nevada. Also known as Lander County Airport, it is owned by Lander County and serves the town and the surrounding region.

The airport was activated in 1944 and functions primarily as a general aviation facility for private, business and regional travel along the Interstate 80 corridor in northern Nevada. It operates with two asphalt runways and no air traffic control tower, with services coordinated through an on-site fixed-base operator.

Situated near Interstate 80 and State Route 305, the airport is reached by road via Airport Road and offers a short connection to the Battle Mountain town centre. Ground transportation is generally arranged by rental car, private transfer or local services.

Passenger facilities include a general aviation terminal with a pilot lounge and restrooms, along with fuel services, aircraft parking, tie-downs and hangars. This makes the airport a practical gateway for general aviation travelers visiting Battle Mountain and Lander County.
