About Bathinda Airport
Bathinda Airport is a domestic airport and Indian Air Force base serving the city of Bathinda and the Malwa region of Punjab. It operates as a civil enclave within Bhisiana Air Force Station, allowing scheduled civilian flights to share the airfield with military aviation.
The civil terminal opened for commercial passenger flights in December 2016, initially with Alliance Air services between Delhi and Bathinda. The compact terminal building can handle around 100 passengers at a time and includes two check-in counters, a security screening area and a baggage claim belt.
Located about 26 km north-west of central Bathinda near the village of Virk Kalan, the airport is reached mainly by taxi or private car, with car rental and parking available at the terminal.
For travellers, Bathinda Airport offers a simple and efficient domestic gateway with essential passenger facilities, including seating, a snack bar and a VIP lounge, making it convenient for short regional flights.
