About Bareilly Airport
Bareilly Airport is a domestic airport serving Bareilly, a commercial and industrial city in western Uttar Pradesh. It operates as a civil enclave within the Indian Air Force's Trishul Air Base at Izzatnagar, about 6 km north of the city centre.
Civil operations began in March 2019, and an expanded terminal building was inaugurated on 8 March 2021. The terminal covers about 3,020 square metres, has six check-in counters and two baggage conveyor belts, and can accommodate around 400 passengers during peak hours. The apron can park up to three Airbus A321-type aircraft.
The airport is connected by scheduled IndiGo flights to Mumbai and Bengaluru, making it a useful regional link for business and leisure travelers. It also serves as a gateway to Bareilly's furniture and zari-zardosi industries and offers access toward the Kumaon Himalayan foothills.
Ground access is mainly by taxi, auto-rickshaw and state buses along Pilibhit Road, with vehicle parking for about 168 cars at the terminal. The airfield shares a long runway with the air force base, and passenger facilities remain compact and easy to navigate.
