Amado Nervo National Airport is the main airport serving Tepic and the state of Nayarit on Mexico's Pacific coast. Named after the locally born poet Amado Nervo, it joined the Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares network in 1991 and was officially designated an international airport in 2009.
Located about 16 km from central Tepic, the airport serves both domestic and international travelers and functions as a gateway to the Riviera Nayarit coastal region. A single passenger terminal handles airline operations, with connections to Mexico City, Tijuana and other domestic and international destinations.
Recent modernization projects have included a new terminal building, an extended runway, additional aircraft parking positions and a new control tower, aimed at increasing capacity and improving the passenger experience.
The airport is reached from Tepic by road, with taxis, car rental and private transfers available for the roughly 25–30 minute journey into the city centre and onward travel to nearby coastal areas.
