Alghero-Fertilia Airport is the main airport serving Alghero, Sassari and northwest Sardinia. Opened as a military airfield in 1938, the airport received its first passenger terminal in 1971 and today operates a modern single-terminal complex inaugurated in 2003.

Situated near the town of Fertilia, about 10 km from Alghero city centre and roughly 30 km from Sassari, the airport provides domestic and international connections, with many seasonal routes serving visitors to Sardinia during the summer months.

The airport is reached by road via the SP44 and SP42, and is served by ARST local buses, taxis and car rental desks at the arrivals area. From the terminal, travellers can continue to Alghero, Sassari, Stintino, Bosa and other destinations along the Coral Riviera and northern coast.
