Ailigandí Airport (AIL)

Ailigandí Airport is a small domestic airstrip serving Ailigandí, an island town in the Guna Yala comarca of Panama. The airstrip lies onshore about 400 metres southeast of Ailigandí island, on the Caribbean side of the country, and gives the community and surrounding San Blas Islands an air link with the rest of Panama.

The airport has a single concrete runway of about 400 metres and a basic passenger area rather than separate terminals. It mainly handles small domestic aircraft on routes connecting Guna Yala with Panama City, and is reached from Ailigandí town by a short boat transfer.

Ailigandí is approximately 167 km east of Panama City by air, while the overland journey through the region is longer and normally combines road travel with boat transport. Small domestic flights offer the most direct connection for travelers continuing to or from the capital.

Facilities at the airstrip are limited, so passengers should confirm flight details in advance and plan onward boat or accommodation arrangements with local providers. Despite its small size, the airport serves as an important gateway for residents and visitors travelling through the San Blas islands.
