Adado Airport (AAD)

Adado Airport is a small domestic airport serving Adado, a town in the Galguduud region of Galmudug State in central Somalia. It functions as an important air link for the local community and surrounding districts, with scheduled and charter flights connecting the area primarily to Mogadishu and other parts of Somalia. The airport sits close to Adado town, roughly five kilometres from the town centre, and is one of the main operational airports in Galmudug State. Its single gravel runway, 05/23, is suited to smaller aircraft and regional operations, reflecting the airport's role as a local gateway rather than a large international hub. Passengers travel through one compact terminal building with basic check-in, security and arrivals areas. Facilities are limited, so travellers are encouraged to confirm flight details with their airline and arrange onward transport in advance. Onward travel from the airport is mainly by road, using taxis, private transfers or local vehicles to reach Adado town and nearby communities. Road connections to more distant cities such as Mogadishu are long, which makes air travel an important option for the region.
