About Ordino
Ordino is a parish and mountain town in the northwest of Andorra, set at roughly 1,300 metres above sea level and surrounded by the Pyrenees. It is known for its well-preserved stone villages, Romanesque churches and a calm, refined mountain atmosphere, only a short drive from the capital, Andorra la Vella.
The town centre is built around narrow stone lanes and traditional granite houses, with the 17th-century Casa d'Areny-Plandolit as its best-known landmark and museum. Across the parish, villages such as La Cortinada, Llorts, El Serrat and Arans preserve Romanesque churches and reminders of the valley's iron-working past, including old forges and water mills.
Ordino is the gateway to the Sorteny Valley Natural Park, a protected area with marked trails, alpine meadows and rich mountain flora, and to the Ordino Arcalís ski area in the northern peaks. The nearby Tristaina solar viewpoint and winding mountain roads offer wide panoramic views, while summer brings hiking, cycling and family-friendly nature experiences.
The town has a small but solid choice of hotels, restaurants and cafés, along with cultural spots such as the Museum of Miniatures and the Ordino Auditorium. Its quiet, well-kept character appeals to visitors looking for relaxation and outdoor activity rather than busy nightlife.
Ordino attracts leisure travellers year-round through skiing, hiking and heritage, and its proximity to Andorra la Vella makes it a practical base for business visitors who want a quieter stay with good road access to the capital and nearby resorts.
