Yellowstone Airport is a state-owned public-use airport serving West Yellowstone, Montana, and is the closest commercial airport to the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It functions as a compact regional gateway for visitors arriving to explore the park and surrounding mountain communities.
The airport's original terminal was built in 1965, and a new terminal was completed in May 2025. The modern building provides two gates, TSA-compliant security screening and an indoor baggage claim area, replacing the previous outdoor baggage claim.
Located about 2 km north of downtown West Yellowstone, the airport is a short drive from local hotels, restaurants and the park's west entrance. Rental cars, taxis, shuttles and hotel courtesy shuttles connect travelers to town and onward destinations.
The airport offers seasonal commercial flights to Salt Lake City through Delta Connection, along with general aviation services such as a fixed-base operator and a pilot campground. Its compact single-terminal layout keeps arrivals, departures and ground transportation easy to navigate.
