About Wycombe Air Park
Wycombe Air Park, also known as Booker Airfield, is a general aviation aerodrome serving High Wycombe and the surrounding Buckinghamshire area. The site opened in 1941 as RAF Booker and was used for pilot training during the Second World War, remaining a military establishment until 1965 when it became a civil airfield. Today the airfield is used mainly for private flying, flight training and helicopter operations, with fixed-wing and helicopter schools, flying clubs, aircraft maintenance and sales businesses based on site. It offers runway 06/24 with a tarmac surface and a parallel grass area used by gliders. Located about 4 km south-west of High Wycombe, the airfield is close to junction 4 of the M40 and is reached via Clay Lane. High Wycombe has a Chiltern Railways station with regular services to London Marylebone and Birmingham, from which taxis and local buses continue to the air park. Facilities include an on-site café and restaurant, refuelling, hangarage and maintenance, making the air park a convenient base for local aviators and visitors travelling to High Wycombe, Marlow and the Chilterns.
