Winona Municipal Airport Max Conrad Field (ONA)

Winona Municipal Airport Max Conrad Field is a public general aviation airport serving Winona and the surrounding southeastern Minnesota region. Located along the Mississippi River in the bluff country, it supports private, corporate, charter and flight-training traffic rather than scheduled airline service.

The airport was constructed between 1949 and 1951, with operations beginning in December 1951, and was later named in honor of Winona-born record-setting aviator Max Conrad. North Central Airlines once served the field with passenger flights until the mid-1970s.

Today the airport is owned by the City of Winona and operates a 5,679-foot asphalt runway, Runway 12/30, with ILS and RNAV instrument approaches. The fixed-base operator Win Air has served the field since 1997 and provides fuel, maintenance, charter, flight instruction, aircraft rental and management.

Situated about three miles northwest of downtown Winona, the airport is reached by road and serves corporate users such as Fastenal, Benchmark Electronics and Watkins, along with Winona's universities and colleges. It provides a convenient gateway for business and recreational aviation in the region.
