About Wilmington Air Park

Wilmington Air Park is a public-use airport in Clinton County, Ohio, serving Wilmington and the surrounding region between Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton. It operates primarily as a cargo and general aviation facility and is one of Ohio's largest cargo airports by air volume.

The site began as a military airfield and later became the Wilmington hub of Airborne Express; after DHL acquired Airborne's operations in 2003, the airport supported a major overnight sorting operation. In recent years, the facility has grown again as a cargo gateway, including Amazon Air activity.

Located about 2 miles southeast of downtown Wilmington, the airport has two long concrete runways of roughly 10,700 and 9,000 feet, along with hangars, ramps, warehouses, and aviation support space. It is owned by the Clinton County Port Authority and is reached via Ohio Route 73, about 10 miles east of Interstate 71.

Travelers using the airport are typically arriving on private, charter, or cargo-related flights, since scheduled commercial passenger service is not currently offered. Ground transportation to Wilmington, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, and other regional destinations is arranged by car, private transfer, or charter vehicle.
