About William R. Fairchild International Airport
William R. Fairchild International Airport is a public airport serving Port Angeles and the northern Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. The airport was developed between 1934 and 1948 and became county-owned before being transferred to the Port of Port Angeles in 1951. It is named after William R. Fairchild, who started the Angeles Flying Service and became the airport's first supervisor in 1953.
Located about 5 km (3 miles) northwest of downtown Port Angeles and near the Strait of Juan de Fuca, CLM primarily supports general aviation, private charter, corporate and cargo operations. The airport covers approximately 797 acres and has two asphalt runways, including a main runway with instrument landing system and precision approach capabilities.
The airport is connected to the city by Clallam Transit bus services, taxis, private transfers, chauffeur services and rental cars, making it easy to continue to downtown Port Angeles, the ferry terminal, Sequim and Olympic National Park.
