About Wendover Airport
Wendover Airport (ENV) is a county-owned, public-use airport serving Wendover, Utah, near the Nevada border. Located roughly one nautical mile southeast of downtown Wendover, it functions primarily as a general aviation gateway while also accommodating charter and occasional commercial flights for visitors to the area's casino resorts.
The airport traces its history to 1940, when the site was selected as Wendover Airfield. During World War II it served as a major training base for B-17, B-24 and B-29 bomber crews and was associated with the 509th Composite Group. Today it remains an operational airport with two asphalt runways and a collection of preserved wartime structures.
Its facilities include a passenger terminal and pilot's lounge, an FBO with aviation fuel and hangars, and the Historic Wendover Airfield Museum. The airport sits just off Interstate 80 at the edge of the Bonneville Salt Flats, making it a convenient stop for pilots and travelers crossing the region.
Because of its small size, ground transportation is straightforward: downtown Wendover and the neighboring casino and hotel district are only a few minutes away by car, taxi, shuttle or rental vehicle.
