Warroad International Memorial Airport (RRT)

Warroad International Memorial Airport, also known as Swede Carlson Field, is a public-use airport in Roseau County, Minnesota, owned and operated by the City of Warroad. Opened in 1949, it serves as a general aviation gateway for the town of Warroad and the wider Lake of the Woods region of northern Minnesota.

The airport features a 5,400-foot paved runway (13/31) with instrument approaches and a 2,987-foot turf runway (4/22) used seasonally. It supports private and corporate aviation, including the aircraft fleet of local manufacturer Marvin Windows, and also hosts a Minnesota DNR fire base for seasonal firefighting operations.

Located about two nautical miles (4 km) northwest of downtown Warroad and roughly four miles from the U.S.-Canada border, the airport provides convenient access to local amenities, lodging, and outdoor destinations around Lake of the Woods. Because it has no scheduled airline service, most travelers reach the city by private car, courtesy car, or pre-arranged transfer.

Facilities include a pilot lounge, flight planning area, restrooms, 100LL and Jet-A fueling, aircraft maintenance, hangars, and tie-downs. On-request U.S. Customs clearance supports international arrivals, making it a practical point of entry for private and corporate flights into the United States.
