Warren 'Bud' Woods Palmer Municipal Airport is a public general aviation airport located about 1 mile southeast of downtown Palmer, Alaska. Owned by the City of Palmer, it serves the aviation needs of Palmer, the Matanuska Valley and the wider Southcentral Alaska region.
The airport opened in December 1949 and supports general aviation, flightseeing, air taxi, charter, cargo and aerial firefighting activity. Its main asphalt runway, 16/34, is 6,006 feet long, with a crosswind runway and a parallel gravel strip also available. Because the airport sits about 42 miles northeast of Anchorage and Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, PAQ does not have scheduled airline passenger service.
Facilities include an on-field FAA Flight Service Station, 24-hour self-serve aviation fuel, a pilot lounge, public restrooms, tiedown aircraft parking, aircraft viewing areas and aircraft maintenance services. The airport is reached from East Evergreen Avenue, close to the Glenn Highway, which connects Palmer with Wasilla, Hatcher Pass and Anchorage.
