About Vidalia Regional Airport
Vidalia Regional Airport is a city-owned, public-use airport serving Vidalia and Toombs County in southeastern Georgia. It opened in 1943 and later became a civilian facility, and today it functions primarily as a general aviation airport for private, business, and charter flights rather than scheduled airline service.
Located about 3 miles southeast of downtown Vidalia, the airport has two paved runways: runway 7/25 at 6,002 feet and runway 14/32 at 5,002 feet. It supports instrument approaches, including an ILS approach, and provides fuel, aircraft parking, and ground support through its fixed-base operator.
The compact terminal building includes a pilot lounge, snooze rooms, and crew cars, along with passenger waiting areas. Because VDI is a small general aviation airport, travelers should arrange ground transportation in advance, with road access available via Airport Road and local highways.
For the surrounding region, VDI offers a convenient entry point for business aviation and private travel to Vidalia and nearby communities, with car rental, private transfers, and chauffeur services available by arrangement.
