Ventspils International Airport is a compact general aviation airport serving Ventspils, a port city on the Baltic Sea coast in western Latvia. The airport was founded in 1975 and today concentrates on private, business and charter flights rather than scheduled airline traffic.
Located about 3.5 km southwest of central Ventspils, the airport has a single asphalt-concrete runway of 1,298 m × 32 m and a passenger terminal. Operations were discontinued in 1983, restoration began in 1997, and the facility has since developed into a general aviation airport certified for visual flights by day and at night.
Ventspils lies roughly 190 km from Riga International Airport, so VNT mainly supports private aircraft, business aviation and charter connections to the city and the Baltic coast. Road access and taxi services link the airport with the city centre in around ten minutes.
