La Vanguardia Airport is the main airport serving Villavicencio, capital of Colombia's Meta Department, and an important air gateway to the eastern plains known as Los Llanos. Opened on 28 February 1949, it has long connected the city with Bogotá and other regional destinations.
Located about 3 km northeast of central Villavicencio, the airport focuses on domestic travel, with regular flights operated mainly by SATENA to Bogotá's El Dorado Airport and to regional destinations such as La Macarena, Mitú, Puerto Carreño and Puerto Inírida.
