About Valle Airport
Valle Airport is a privately owned, public-use general aviation airport in Coconino County, northern Arizona. It sits along State Route 64 in the high desert between Williams and the South Rim, roughly 25 miles (40 km) south of Grand Canyon Village and about 29 miles (47 km) north of Williams.
Activated in December 1992, the airport serves private pilots, charter flights, and air-tour support operations. It has one asphalt runway, 01/19, measuring 4,199 by 45 feet (1,280 by 14 m), and is operated without a control tower; pilots use the common traffic advisory frequency.
Because it is a small general aviation field, Valle Airport has no scheduled airline passenger terminal. Ground travel to Grand Canyon National Park, Williams, Tusayan, and Flagstaff is made by private car, rental car, or pre-arranged transfer along State Route 64 and connecting highways.
The airport is also known as the site of the Planes of Fame Air Museum's Arizona facility, which opened in 1995 to display historic aircraft; the museum complex remains on airport grounds. For general aviation visitors, Valle Airport offers a convenient, quiet alternative for approaching the Grand Canyon region.
