About Václav Havel Airport Prague

Václav Havel Airport Prague is the main international airport serving Prague and the surrounding Central Bohemian region. Originally opened in 1937 as Prague-Ruzyně Airport, it was renamed in 2012 in honour of former Czech president Václav Havel.

Located approximately 17 km northwest of central Prague, the airport connects the Czech capital with domestic and international destinations and serves both leisure and business travellers. Its passenger operations are concentrated in two main terminals: Terminal 1 for non-Schengen flights and Terminal 2 for Schengen flights, with additional terminals for general, private and state flights.

The airport is connected to the city by public transport, including trolleybus line 59 to Nádraží Veleslavín, bus 100 to Zličín, the Airport Express to the main railway station, taxis, private transfers and road links. This makes onward travel to the city centre and surrounding areas relatively straightforward.

With shops, duty-free, restaurants, cafés, lounges, free Wi-Fi and other passenger services across the terminals, the airport functions as a major gateway for visitors arriving in the Czech Republic.
