V. C. Bird International Airport is the main international airport serving Antigua and Barbuda. Located about 8 km northeast of St. John's on the island of Antigua, it is the country's principal gateway for leisure and business travelers and an important hub for regional flights across the Eastern Caribbean.
Originally known as Coolidge International Airport, it was renamed in 1985 after Sir Vere Cornwall Bird, Antigua and Barbuda's first prime minister. A new passenger terminal opened in 2015, expanding capacity with modern check-in, security, arrivals and departure facilities.
