About Haifa Airport
Haifa Airport is the main airport serving Haifa and the wider northern region of Israel. Established in 1934 by the British Mandate, it is Israel's oldest international airport and is named after Uri Michaeli, one of the pioneers of Israeli aviation.
Located at the eastern entrance to Haifa near the Kishon River and the port area, the airport sits about 5 km from the city centre. It has a single passenger terminal, rebuilt with a modern terminal opened in 1998, and a single runway. The airport handles domestic flights, mainly to Eilat, as well as international flights, primarily to Cyprus.
The airport provides convenient access to Haifa, the northern Mediterranean coast, Akko, Nazareth and the Galilee region. Travellers can continue by taxi, bus, rental car or private transfer, with railway stations located a short distance from the terminal.
