Ukiah Municipal Airport is a public general aviation airport located about one mile south of downtown Ukiah in Mendocino County, California. Owned and operated by the City of Ukiah, it primarily serves private pilots, business aircraft, air ambulance operations and aviation support functions rather than scheduled airline service.
The airport has a single asphalt runway, 15/33, measuring about 4,415 feet, with a parallel taxiway, tie-down areas and hangar space. Its facilities also host the CAL FIRE air attack base and other service operators, making it an important aviation asset for the Ukiah Valley and surrounding region.
The site has been owned by the city since the 1930s and was activated as an airport in 1946. Today it remains a convenient entry point for general aviation visitors arriving in Ukiah, with downtown, Highway 101 and local wine country and Mendocino Coast destinations only a short drive away.
Because the airport has no scheduled commercial passenger service, most travelers reach Ukiah by car or via larger airports such as Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport about 55 miles to the south. For private pilots, the airport offers straightforward access, fuel, hangar and tie-down facilities close to the city center.
