About Ugashik Bay Airport
Ugashik Bay Airport is a small public-use airstrip serving Pilot Point and the Ugashik Bay area on the Alaska Peninsula. Activated in 1966 and owned by the Bureau of Land Management, it functions as a remote access point rather than a conventional commercial airport.
The airport is located about 11 nautical miles (13 miles / 20 km) south-southwest of the central business district of Pilot Point, near Ugashik Bay. It has a single gravel runway designated 12/30 measuring 5,280 by 125 feet (1,609 by 38 meters). There is no control tower, and the airfield is unattended.
Because the site has no road connection to Pilot Point, access for travelers and supplies is typically arranged by small aircraft or boat. The airport is listed for public use but is noted for emergency use, so visitors should confirm arrangements in advance.
Passenger facilities are minimal, with no terminal building, dining, shopping, or lounge services. Travelers using the airport should plan to be self-sufficient and arrange onward transport before arrival.
