About Tuluksak Airport

Tuluksak Airport is a state-owned public-use airport serving Tuluksak, a small Yup'ik village in the Bethel Census Area of southwestern Alaska. It provides essential air access for a community that is not connected to Alaska's road system.

The airport sits near the village at the junction of the Tuluksak and Kuskokwim rivers, about 35 miles (56 km) northeast of Bethel. Activated in October 1959, it has a single gravel and dirt runway, 15/33, measuring 3,300 by 60 feet.

Because Tuluksak has no road connection, scheduled commuter flights operated by carriers such as Yute Commuter Service link the village with Bethel, the regional hub, where travelers can make onward connections. The airport has no control tower and is unattended.

Ground transport at the airport is limited to local vehicles, ATVs and short transfers within the village. Travelers generally use the airport as a connection point to and from Bethel and other Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta communities.
