Triangle North Executive Airport is a county-owned, public-use general aviation airport serving Louisburg, Franklin County and the wider Research Triangle region of North Carolina. It supports private, corporate, charter and training flights rather than scheduled airline service.
Opened in March 1993 as the Franklin County Regional Airport, the facility was renamed Triangle North Executive Airport in November 2008. It operates a single asphalt runway, 5/23, measuring 5,498 by 100 feet (1,676 by 30 metres), along with a general aviation terminal building of about 2,500 square feet.
Located about five nautical miles (9 km) southwest of downtown Louisburg, the airport sits roughly 28 miles (45 km) from Raleigh and offers convenient access to Franklin County and northeastern Wake County. There is no scheduled public transit at the airport, so most travelers continue their journey by private vehicle, rental car, taxi or pre-arranged transfer.
With aviation fuel, flight training, aircraft rental, maintenance services, a passenger lounge and rental car delivery, the airport serves both local pilots and visiting business travelers as a practical gateway to the Research Triangle area.
