About Tres de Mayo Airport
Tres de Mayo Airport is the main domestic airport serving Puerto Asís and the surrounding Putumayo department in southern Colombia. It provides essential air connections between this Amazon-border region and larger Colombian cities, supporting residents, business travellers and visitors.
The airport was inaugurated in 1958 and is named in honour of Puerto Asís' founding date of 3 May. Its single terminal and control tower handle scheduled domestic flights operated by regional airlines, mainly to Bogotá, Cali, Ipiales and Puerto Leguízamo.
Located within the town, just a few minutes from the centre of Puerto Asís, the airport is easy to reach by taxi or local road transport. Its close position makes onward travel to hotels and nearby communities straightforward.
