East Hampton Town Airport is the primary general aviation gateway to East Hampton and the surrounding Hamptons communities on the East End of Long Island. It serves private aircraft, charter flights, and general aviation rather than scheduled commercial airline service.
The airport was established in 1936, and its current terminal area was completed in 1994. In May 2022, the facility transitioned from the public-use East Hampton Airport to a private-use airport known as East Hampton Town Airport, while remaining a key access point for travelers to the Hamptons.
Located about three nautical miles west of East Hampton Village near Wainscott, Suffolk County, the airport sits on approximately 600 acres. It has two active runways, a terminal building, FBO facilities, and private hangars, with a control tower operated seasonally during the summer.
The airport is reached via Montauk Highway (NY 27), and ground transportation options include taxis, private transfers, chauffeur services, and car rentals for travel to East Hampton, Sag Harbor, Montauk, and other destinations.
