About Texarkana Regional Airport

Texarkana Regional Airport has served the Texarkana area and the surrounding Ark-La-Tex region since it was certified for operation in 1928, with commercial passenger flights beginning in 1931. The airport functions as a compact, convenient gateway for domestic travel, with American Airlines operating daily service to Dallas/Fort Worth.

Located about four miles northeast of downtown Texarkana, Arkansas, the airport sits within easy reach of the Texas side of the city and major roads including US Highway 67, Interstate 49, and Interstate 30. This central position makes it a practical entry point for leisure and business travelers heading to destinations across Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.

The airport opened its current passenger facility, the 40,000-square-foot Jim E. Yates Terminal, in July 2024. The two-story terminal includes jet bridges, an additional gate with room for expansion, modern check-in and baggage systems, and capacity to support up to three airlines.

Travelers benefit from a short and simple airport experience, with parking, car rentals, taxis, and ride-share services steps from the terminal. Once on the road, most points across the Texarkana metro area are reachable in about ten to fifteen minutes.
