About Teller Airport

Teller Airport is a small public-use airport serving the village of Teller on the Seward Peninsula in western Alaska. Opened in July 1975, it provides a vital air link for this remote coastal community and supports scheduled regional flights to Nome and nearby villages.

Located about 2 miles (3 km) south of central Teller, the airport operates a single gravel runway, 08/26, measuring roughly 2,983 by 60 feet, along with a compact passenger building. It has no control tower and is unattended, with pilots coordinating traffic on the local common traffic advisory frequency.

The nearest regional hub is Nome, about 49 nautical miles to the southeast by air. Road access is provided by the gravel Nome–Teller Highway, which runs roughly 72 miles between Nome and Teller, so onward travel typically relies on scheduled flights, pre-arranged transfers or local vehicles.

Facilities are limited and suited to the airport's rural role. There is no FBO or on-site fuel service, although an automated weather system supports flight operations. Teller Airport remains an important gateway for residents, visitors and essential services across this part of the Seward Peninsula.
