About Tbilisi International Airport
Tbilisi International Airport is Georgia's main international airport and the principal air gateway to Tbilisi and the wider Caucasus region. The current passenger terminal opened in 2007 as part of a major modernization project and handles a large share of the country's international and domestic air traffic.
The airport lies approximately 17 km southeast of central Tbilisi, near the Kakheti Highway, and is operated by TAV Georgia. A single modern terminal building serves both international and domestic flights, with arrivals on one level and departures on another for a relatively simple passenger flow.
Travelers can reach the city center by municipal bus route 337, taxi, ride-hailing apps, private transfers, car rental and limited train services from the nearby airport railway station. The drive to downtown Tbilisi typically takes around 20 to 35 minutes depending on traffic.
