About Sugar Land Regional Airport

Sugar Land Regional Airport is a corporate and general aviation airport owned and operated by the City of Sugar Land. It is the fourth largest airport in the greater Houston area and serves as a reliever airport for Houston's larger commercial airports, focusing primarily on business, corporate and general aviation traffic in the southwest Houston metropolitan area.

The airport began as a grass landing strip in the 1950s and later added an 8,000-foot runway that can accommodate large corporate jets. It was renamed Sugar Land Regional Airport in 2002, and the current 20,000-square-foot terminal opened in 2006.

Located in Sugar Land, Texas, the airport sits southwest of downtown Houston with convenient access from U.S. Highway 90 and State Highway 6. The facility is approximately 25 miles from downtown Houston and provides a closer, efficient gateway for corporate travelers heading to Sugar Land, Fort Bend County and the greater Houston area.

Passenger and crew services are centered on the airport's fixed-base operator, GlobalSelect, which provides fueling, line services, an on-site café, executive lounge, conference rooms and U.S. Customs and Border Protection services.
