Spirit of St. Louis Airport (SUS)

Spirit of St. Louis Airport is a public general aviation airport serving the St. Louis metropolitan area from Chesterfield, Missouri. Opened in 1964, it has grown into a major business aviation center for the Midwest, supporting corporate, charter, private and cargo operations rather than scheduled airline service. Located about 17 miles (27 km) west of downtown St. Louis, the airport provides fast access to West St. Louis County communities such as Chesterfield, Clayton, Town and Country and Ladue, as well as the wider business and financial corridors of the region. Its facilities include a 7,485-foot all-weather runway, a 5,000-foot parallel runway, precision approaches and an FAA air traffic control tower. The field operates as a U.S. Customs landing-rights airport with on-site customs services, allowing international arrivals to clear directly at the airport. Multiple fixed-base operators provide fueling, hangar space, aircraft handling, passenger lounges and concierge ground transportation. Road access is convenient via Interstate 64 and U.S. Route 40, with downtown St. Louis typically reachable in roughly 20 to 30 minutes by car. Taxis, rental cars and private or chauffeur-driven transfers complete the onward journey to hotels, offices and surrounding destinations.
