About Southwest Minnesota Regional Airport – Marshall/Ryan Field
The airport opened in April 1940 and has developed into a busy general aviation facility serving Marshall and southwest Minnesota. It is named for Mathew J. Ryan, a local aviation advocate who helped establish and improve Marshall's municipal airport.
Located about one mile west of Marshall's central business district, the airport primarily supports private, business, agricultural and charter flying rather than scheduled airline service. It has two asphalt runways, a 7,221-foot primary runway and a 3,999-foot crosswind runway, and operates without an air traffic control tower.
The on-site arrival/departure building provides a pilot lounge, flight planning rooms, vending areas, conference rooms and restrooms, along with Wi-Fi and outdoor patio space. Fuel, hangars, aircraft parking and FBO services are available, making the airport a practical base for pilots and a convenient entry point for road travel to Marshall and the surrounding region.
