Semporna Airport (SMM) is a small airfield serving the coastal town of Semporna on the east coast of Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. The airport is used mainly for general aviation, private flights and light aircraft, and it does not currently operate regular scheduled commercial passenger services.
The airfield lies about 3 km southwest of Semporna town centre and has a single short gravel runway of approximately 609 m, together with a compact terminal and apron for light aircraft. Its role is local and limited, while most visitors travelling by air arrive at Tawau Airport and continue to Semporna by road.
Semporna is best known as the gateway for diving and island trips to Sipadan, Mabul and Kapalai. From the airport, the town centre, hotels and departure jetties are only a short road journey away, and taxis, private transfers, chauffeurs and rental vehicles can be arranged.
The airfield remains useful for private and charter aviation in the Semporna district. Malaysia Standard Time (UTC+8) applies year-round in Sabah, and the short drive into town keeps onward connections to hotels, jetties and dive-resort meeting points straightforward.
