Sematan Airport is a small airfield serving Sematan and the surrounding coastal areas of Lundu District in western Sarawak, Malaysia. It has no scheduled commercial passenger flights and is used mainly for private, general aviation and Royal Malaysian Air Force operations.
The airfield was officiated in September 1958, when a Borneo Airways Twin Pioneer made the first landing there on a proving flight from Kuching. It has a single runway and limited infrastructure compared with Kuching International Airport, which remains the main gateway for the region.
Located just outside Sematan town and close to the coast, the airport lies about 67.5 km west-north-west of Kuching in a straight line. By road, the drive is roughly 104 km and normally takes around 1.5 to 2 hours, passing through Lundu.
For most visitors, Kuching International Airport is the practical arrival point, with onward road travel to Sematan, Lundu, beach resorts and nearby national parks such as Gunung Gading and Tanjung Datu. Sematan Airport continues to serve as a small local airfield for specialised operations.
