Clarinda Municipal Airport – Schenck Field (ICL)

Schenck Field is the public-use municipal airport serving Clarinda and the surrounding southwest Iowa area. Activated in January 1950 and named for local aviation pioneer Ray Schenck, the airport primarily supports private, business and general aviation traffic rather than scheduled airline service.

Located about one mile southeast of downtown Clarinda, the field sits close to the Iowa–Missouri border and provides convenient access to Clarinda, Shenandoah, Red Oak, Corning and other communities in the region.

The airport's main paved runway, 02/20, is approximately 5,002 feet long, and a secondary turf runway, 13/31, is available for suitable aircraft. Ground access is straightforward by local road, with private transfers, taxis, rental cars and chauffeur services available for onward travel.

On-site services include aviation fuel, tiedown parking, minor aircraft maintenance and AWOS-3 weather reporting through the fixed-base operator, Clarinda Flying Service. Schenck Field functions as a practical and convenient aviation access point for business, agricultural and visitor travel in southwest Iowa.
