About Schefferville Airport
Schefferville Airport is the main air gateway for Schefferville, a remote former mining town in the Côte-Nord region of northern Quebec. The airport's single paved runway and small terminal support year-round regional flights, making it an essential link for a community that has no road connection to the provincial highway network.
Located about 2 km from the town centre, the airport is served primarily by Air Inuit, which operates flights to Sept-Îles where passengers can connect onward to destinations such as Montreal and Quebec City. Schefferville can also be reached by rail through Tshiuetin Rail Transportation, which connects the town to Sept-Îles.
The terminal is compact and easy to navigate, with a single building handling check-in, arrivals and baggage claim. Taxis and free on-site parking are available, and car rental options allow visitors to move around Schefferville and the surrounding area.
Despite its small size, the airport plays an important role for local residents, mining operations and regional travel in this part of northern Quebec, providing a reliable air link in a remote subarctic setting.
