Santa Ynez Airport (SQA) is a public general aviation airport serving the Santa Ynez Valley in Santa Barbara County, California. Opened in March 1948, it supports private, business and recreational flying and functions as a convenient gateway to the valley's wine-country towns and surrounding areas.
Located about 1 mile (2 km) southeast of the central business district of Santa Ynez, the airport operates a single asphalt runway, 8/26, measuring 2,803 feet (854 m). It has no control tower, and operations are conducted under standard general aviation procedures.
The airport is especially useful for visitors heading to Solvang, Los Olivos, Buellton and Ballard, as well as for private pilots using it as a refueling and stopover point. It lies within driving distance of Santa Barbara, roughly 30 miles (48 km) to the southwest.
