About San Bernardino International Airport

San Bernardino International Airport serves San Bernardino and the wider Inland Empire as a small, convenient alternative to the region's larger airports. The site began as Norton Air Force Base, which opened in the early 1940s and was decommissioned in 1994 before being converted to civilian use.

Scheduled passenger service launched in August 2022, when Breeze Airways began nonstop flights to San Francisco and Provo, Utah. The airport has a modern domestic terminal with ticketing counters, self-service kiosks, four passenger gates and a baggage claim area, along with a separate international terminal and the Luxivair SBD executive terminal.

Located about 2.5 miles southeast of downtown San Bernardino and roughly 60 miles east of Los Angeles, the airport is close to major freeways including I-10, I-215 and SR-210. Travelers can reach it by car, taxi, rideshare, private transfer or chauffeur service.

With short lines at check-in and security, free Wi-Fi, dining options before and after security, family amenities and low-cost parking, SBD offers a relaxed passenger experience for travelers across Southern California.
