Samuels Field Airport is a public-use general aviation airport serving Bardstown and Nelson County, Kentucky. Opened in 1963, it supports private and business aviation for the city and surrounding area rather than scheduled commercial airline service.
Located about two miles west of downtown Bardstown on Boston Road (US 62), the airport has a single asphalt runway, Runway 3/21, measuring approximately 5,003 feet by 75 feet. The runway was later lengthened from its original 3,200 feet to about 5,000 feet to accommodate larger general aviation aircraft.
The airport is operated by the Bardstown-Nelson County Air Board and serves as a convenient air access point for the Bourbon Capital region. Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, the nearest major commercial airport, lies about 40 miles to the northwest.
