Salina Regional Airport (SLN) is the primary commercial service airport for Salina, Saline County and the wider North Central Kansas region. Originally developed in 1942 as Smoky Hill Army Airfield, the site later served as a Strategic Air Command base before the City of Salina took over its operation in the mid-1960s, and it is now managed by the Salina Airport Authority.
