Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni Airport (LDX)

Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni Airport (LDX) is a small regional airport serving Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, the second-largest city in French Guiana, and the wider western part of the territory. Located near the Maroni River and the border with Suriname, the airport plays an important role in connecting the town with other parts of French Guiana, particularly isolated interior communes.

The airport operates a single asphalt runway and one small passenger terminal, with services focused mainly on domestic flights within French Guiana. Regular regional connections support travel between Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, Cayenne and interior destinations such as Maripasoula and Grand-Santi, where road access is limited.

Situated only about 1–2 km southwest of the town centre, the airport is quick to reach by taxi, private transfer or rental car. Road links also connect the town toward Cayenne, roughly 200 km to the east, while Albina in Suriname lies just across the river.

Because it is a small regional facility, passenger processing is generally straightforward and the short distance to the town centre makes onward travel convenient. Basic waiting facilities are available, but travelers should expect a simpler range of services than at larger international airports.
