About Reese Airpark
Reese Airpark is a private general aviation airport located about 10 miles (16 km) west of Lubbock, Texas. The airfield sits within the Reese Technology Center, a business and research park developed on the site of the former Reese Air Force Base.
Originally established as Lubbock Army Airfield in 1941 and later renamed Reese Air Force Base, the installation trained military pilots until its closure in 1997. After the base closed, the property was converted into the Reese Technology Center, and the airfield was reactivated for private aviation use.
The airfield has multiple runways, including a 10,500-foot former military runway, and supports private, corporate and research flights rather than scheduled passenger service. Its single general aviation building provides a compact terminal with lounge, crew and planning areas.
By road, downtown Lubbock is normally about a 15-20 minute drive, and Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport is the closest commercial airport for scheduled flights.
