Redding Municipal Airport is the main airport serving Redding and Shasta County in Northern California. Located about 6 miles (10 km) southeast of downtown Redding, it provides scheduled domestic connections to Seattle, Denver, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Originally developed as Redding Army Airfield in the 1940s and later transferred to the city, the airport has grown into a regional commercial gateway. Its passenger terminal was remodeled and expanded to about 30,000 square feet in 2014.
The airport is reached from Interstate 5 via Knighton Road and Airport Road, making it convenient for Redding, Anderson, Red Bluff, Shasta Lake, Mount Shasta, Lassen Volcanic National Park and the wider Shasta Cascade region.
