About Reading Regional Airport
Reading Regional Airport is the primary general aviation airport serving Reading, Berks County and southeastern Pennsylvania. Also known as General Carl A. Spaatz Field, it supports corporate and business aviation, air charter, flight training, aircraft maintenance, aerial inspection and cargo operations, including medical specimen flights.
Located about three miles northwest of downtown Reading along Route 183, the airport opened as Reading Municipal Airport and was dedicated in 1939. During the 1940s it served as the Reading Army Air Base, and a new terminal and restaurant were completed in 1961 as the facility continued to grow.
Today RDG operates two runways and a compact general aviation terminal served by Reading Aviation, the airport's fixed-base operator. The FBO terminal provides lounges, a conference room, an on-site restaurant, Wi-Fi, and access to rental cars and ground transportation.
With its location along Bernville Pike and proximity to Reading, Wyomissing and major highways, the airport offers convenient access to Berks County and the wider Mid-Atlantic region for private and charter travelers.
